DESCRIPTION:On June 7\, 8 and 9\, 2019\nTechaide is organizing the AI4Good Conference and Hackathon -Montreal edition organized by Techaide at Mila\, Montreal. \nThe objective of this conference is to connect the AI community with the non-profit community in Montreal to better understand the existing problems and to encourage collaborations that will lead to improvements in the lives of Montrealers. \nFor the first day of the conference\, speakers will share their expertise on existing problems in the Montreal community which potentially could be addressed with the help of AI\, or on AI solutions which could be or have already been applied to existing problems in the AI4Good space. \nAs part of the conference\, a hackathon will be held on the evening of June 7\, from 5 am to 9 pm\, on June 8\, from 9 am to midnight and on June 9\, from 9 am to 3 pm. SUMMARY:2019 Techaide Soccer Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Techaide is organizing a soccer tournament January\, 26th\, 2019 for the benefit of Centraide of Greater Montreal. The Tech Community is getting people together for some festive indoor exercise. Fans of amateur soccer are welcome to take part in this friendly competition \nFor a great cause\nIn addition to spending a great afternoon with some of the most dynamic players in Montreal’s tech\, startup\, and venture capital community\, everyone who attends the event will be contributing to a great cause. All proceeds from the tournament will go to Centraide of Greater Montreal to support their fight against poverty and social exclusion. \nEvent details\nTeams of five players will go head-to-head in an indoor soccer tournament. Teams can have up to 7 substitutions with unlimited player combinations. Matches are played on a small field and are short\, with two intermissions of 5 minutes. \n\nThe 16 teams in the tournament will be divided into 4 groups for an initial round robin of 3 matches.\nThe 2 teams that lead each group after the round robin will then go on to the quarterfinals. The winners of the quarterfinals will go on to the semifinals.\nThe winners of the semi-finals will play in the final. The losers of the semi-finals will play in a match to determine the 3rd-place winner.\nThe teams that don’t make it into the playoffs can keep playing to try and win the competition for most goals scored.\n\nAfter the tournament\, at 6:00 p.m.\, the winning teams will receive a tournament cup at a reception with food and beverages and sponsor information booths. \nTeam Registration\nThe registration fee for each team is $100. \nEach team is then asked to raise at least $1\,000 to participate in the tournament which will then be donated to Centraide. The $100 registration fee can be included in the final amount. \nFor each registration fee ($1000)\, a tax receipt will be issued. This receipt will be released to whom is making the gift on Eventbrite. Please note that the fee could be separate in a few donors to get to the $1000. Registration No.: 11884 2517 RR0001. \nDonations\nWe will also be accepting donations to support the event and your favorite team (please indicate the name of the team). \nFor this event\, a tax receipt will be issued for every donation of $20 or more to Centraide.
