Heroes of the day
It all started in January when Veselina, Andréa, Kurt, and Laurent met virtually to initiate the organization of the tournament with the goal of recruiting 32 teams and raising $50,000 for Centraide of Greater Montreal.
Twenty extraordinary volunteers then joined us to offer an incredible experience to the 33 teams and 400 players of this 3rd edition of the Techaide soccer tournament. They are the heroes of the day.
Thank you Romy, Kim, Amélie, Adrien, Laurianne, Charlie, Stephen, Benoit, Laurianne, Emmanuelle, Christophe, Louis, Cynthia, Danny, Laura and Jean-Christophe.
A special thanks to the Notman House team (OSMO Foundation) for their support over the past few weeks, and to Unito for contributing half of the tournament volunteers.
Generosity in every way
In the first two editions of the Techaide soccer tournament, the teams raised $25,000 and $31,000 for Centraide. With a goal of $50,000 this year, we set the bar very high.
Fortunately, Montreal’s tech community took up the challenge with incredible generosity that helped to exceed the goal with $60,000 in donations, a 93% increase over 2020.
TrackTik particularly excelled with 100% participation in all three Techaide soccer tournaments, and especially with $7,731 in donations this year, which gives it a well-deserved first place.
At the individual level, we have to mention the exceptional donation campaign organized by Maxime Kogovsek, from the Fizz team, who alone raised over $1,200.
Congratulations to all participating companies: Boreal Ventures (competitive champion), AppDirect (recreational champion A), IPL (recreational champion B), PlanHub (recreational champion C), Wavo (recreational champion D), AlayaCare, AlgoLux, Behaviour Interactif, Dialogue, Emyode, Espace CDPQand their partners, Fizz, Front Row Ventures, Google Montréal, Inovia, Legion Labs, Mistplay, Moov AI, Maison Notman, OVHcloud, Paper, Unsplash, Planned, Real Ventures, Sama, SAP, Third Bridge, TrackTik, Unito, Vention, VKI and Wrk.
A year of records
To give back as much as possible to those who need it most, Techaide has a goal of keeping its event expenses under 10% (FYI, 15% is great for a nonprofit).
2022 is a record year for the Techaide Soccer Tournament, as organizational expenses accounted for only 4.5% of the money raised.
This excellent result is made possible by a 100% volunteer organization and the support of extraordinary partners:
See you on the beach
If you enjoyed the soccer tournament, you will love the beach volleyball tournament that Techaide is organizing on August 26th at the Volleyball Beach Center in Montreal.
